'The Carlton, Norwich c. 1935'
I have been working on a new project, another homage to the Fine City of Norwich.
I have finally completed the first in the series of Norwich's loved and lost cinemas. The Carlton opened in 1932 and ran as a 'talkie' cinema until 1973, being renamed as The Gaumont in 1960. During the Blitz an unexploded bomb buried itself in the theatre but the shows still went on! The Carlton was situated on All Saint's Green, opposite John Lewis.
My series of Norwich pubs are on exhibition again! This time at the lovely Assembly House until April. I am really pleased to have my first ever Soodle Street illustration on the front cover of their Spring brochure too!
